One installer, then your own discs.
What the installer does
- Installs the launcher, a Windows desktop application, and lists it once in Apps and Features.
- Opens a short setup wizard: where the runtime and every game's data live, one folder for all four games with each game kept apart under it, and extras such as Discord presence and automatic updates.
- Keeps the launcher itself up to date through its own update feed.
- Is signed, as are its uninstaller and the launcher.
What the launcher downloads
- The Phaethon runtime, as a numbered release from Phaethon's own server: the program that runs the games, and the tools that turn a disc into a game it can run.
- Each runtime update as it is released; an update rebuilds only the games it changes.
- Nothing from the games themselves. Every game file comes from your own copy.

The discs the launcher knows.
You need your own copy of each game, on its disc or as an image you made from your disc. Phaethon does not ship or download any game data: the launcher reads every file from your copy, and checks the disc's serial before it extracts anything. These are the serials it checks against, from the docs' Getting started page.
