This website
playphaethon.com sets no cookies and loads nothing from another site: its fonts, icons and scripts are served from here, and there are no analytics or trackers. The web server keeps the standard request log every web server keeps: the address a request came from, the time, the page asked for and the name the browser gives.
The launcher
Signed out, the launcher sends nothing about you anywhere: every game plays the same, and nothing about a disc, a build or a save leaves your machine. It downloads the runtime and its own updates from the store at dl.playphaethon.com. Its Discord presence, which tells Discord what you are doing in the launcher and in the game, can be turned off in its Settings.
Your account
Signing in is optional. When you create an account and sign in:
- The sign-in service at auth.playphaethon.com keeps your username, your password, your email address and your sign-in sessions. The launcher never sees your password.
- The account service at api.playphaethon.com keeps your Phaethon user id, your display name, your email address and whether it is verified, and when you were first and last seen.
- Sessions and progress. Each game session you play while signed in is reported once: the game, when it started and ended, the seconds played, and your computer's name. Your play time per game is summed from them.
- Saves. When saves are uploaded, each game's saves are kept under your account as one zip per revision, the newest five per game, up to 64 MiB for the account.
None of it is shared with anyone else, and none of it is used for advertising.
Having it removed
Write to hello@playphaethon.com from the address on your account and ask for it to be deleted. Your account and its records are then removed, and the save files themselves are removed from the server by hand today, since nothing removes them yet. Removal is done by hand, so it is not instant.
